It's a shame that LG doesn't sell laptops in then UK because in all likelihood that means its coming netbook the X110 won't see a UK release. The reason that's particularly frustrating is that LG is one of the few manufacturers (Dell and Asus being the others thus far) integrating 3G into its system.

Unsurprisingly other than HSDPA, there's nothing particularly remarkable about LG's X110. There's a 10in screen a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 512MB or 1GB of RAM and either an 80GB, a 120GB or a 160GB hard drive. All pretty much as expected, although LG oddly lists Vista Home Basic as the OS of choice, unlike any other manufacturer I can think of.

LG's X110 might just shuffle ahead of some of its rival in the keyboard department, as it seems to have some pretty generously sized arrow keys and a full sized right shift key. Those small ones on the Eee PC, MSI wind and their like are pretty frustrating so I, for one, would welcome the change. Saying that, the Acer Aspire One got there first so LG can't claim much credit.

Still, 3G is 3G and we all want it on the side of our Ultimate Netbook main course.

Update - LG's reps have contacted us to say that the X110 will in fact see a UK release date, contrary to my conjecture that it probably wouldn't above. No release date or pricing information though, alas.

If they're not coming to the UK, then why the UK-style return key?
